Mindful Couples Therapy is more than just talk therapy.  It’s a unique process where you each learn individually and then together how to communicate from a deeper, more heart felt place.  Learning a new perspective of self-awareness and awareness of partner through mind-body skills starting in the first session, you develop a new language of being together.

Why be mindful? Well, we tend to notice a lot more when we can pay attention in a particular way.  Slowing down a bit and noticing your partner with new eyes.  Seeing them for who they are in that moment.  Not through a lens of belief that might not be true.  And isn’t that what we want in relationships — to be seen — and to truly be heard?

It’s really not that hard.  It just takes a little practice.  I completed my research dissertation on mindfulness and have been teaching it for 28 years — because it works!  When you notice your partner in a new way, you shift the patterns in your relationship — towards moving closer together rather than further apart, towards understanding and harmony,  and towards greater emotional intimacy.
